The January Sale is an important time to grab new customers and sell handsets for O2. Each year a microsite goes live to show off the available deals. This year the campaign played off the good vibes of the 2012 London Olympics, and I was tasked in taking the campaign material and making it work in the digital space.
The initial sketches save a lot of time and at O2 we often used the whiteboards in the first few meetings with stakeholders and developers to figure out what we want to do, and what’s possible.
Whenever I design interactions or animations I prefer to produce an animation prototype using Flash or After Effects – so that the developer knows exactly how they should behave in browser.
